“EVEN AS the all-wise Great Spirit has been patient and generous with me in my processes of maturing in stature and nobility, so also am I patient and generous with others. I do not give undue weight to distortions I may perceive around me.
EVEN AS the nature of the Great One is characterized by truth and life, so it is with me. I am both truthful and encouraging in my relationship to others.”
Can you remember your first Attunement? Did you understand the ramifications of what was transpiring? I was pleasantly confounded by the results of my first Attunement, as I could see light radiating from my skin. Either I was losing my mind or something amazing was happening. Thankfully, it was the latter. How grateful I am for Joe Wilson who shared that first Attunement as it opened a whole new world for me. Did I understand that at the time – no!
Once, several months after working with my Attunement mentor, Roger deWinton, I told him that I thought I knew most everything about Attunement and if I didn’t could he please tell what I needed to know. He smiled and said in so many words that it would take years to mature the perception and understanding of the Attunement process. Now, years later, I know he was right. And I find myself saying something similar in the classes and to the individuals who tell me they want to know everything about Attunement today.
Patience is the first step to the light of understanding. It is also the first step to maturing. When people arrive at the office they are usually going 150 mph mentally. Sometimes this includes the emotional realm (handling the currents of the day – family, work, the local area and the world) and physical realm (they forgot to use the bathroom or to drink water, etc.). So I encourage them to turn off their cell phones, tablets, pagers, and take a deep breath. Go to the bathroom and get a drink of water, and then we will start.
In my healing practice, Heartland Attunement, a new client fills out an intake interview form. In the conversation that follows, if appropriate, I may inquire if they have found a way to nurture themselves spiritually or energetically. Often they have. If they have not, I can encourage them to make space in their busy lives to explore the reality of who they truly are. Health and healing energies emerge out of an Attunement with who we are – Being. Our modern day technological society is moving so fast that there is little time and space to commune with ourselves. There have been a few clients who actually said to me that they were afraid to be by themselves, alone and unconnected to the world through some electronic device. So we talk about stillness and silence, exploring ways in which they might begin to re-connect with the essences of their own Being. I know that touching, in whatever manner, their own presence will activate the maturing process, opening the door for a return to balance, harmony, and peace.
