It was an average day. I was on my daily walk and, for the first time in awhile, I was alone. My one year old son was grocery shopping with my husband, Dave, and I was alone. All of a sudden, as I neared the end of my trek, I looked up at the sky. It felt wider, more expansive, and I felt a part of it. I was overwhelmed with the feeling of joy, love and unity. I felt exponentially bigger than my physical body, and I was energized like I had been “plugged in”. In that moment I chalked it up to an amazing experience and went on with my day.
A few hours later, I got the call. My father had passed away suddenly in his home; we learned later, from a sudden heart attack. My life changed in that instant, and I knew nothing would be the same again.
After some time passed, it sank in that he had transitioned as I was looking up into the sky feeling enormous clarity, love, joy and bliss. I began to feel that what was physically before me in this life was no longer the driving force daring me to live. I now craved the experience of living from the identity of Being. It promised to bring me closer to my dad, closer to the truth of myself, and closer to what I knew was possible from my experience with the sky. That was the year I began to learn Attunement.
Slowly the world I live in has changed because my identity has changed. I have learned to listen to the whispers of Spirit. I know in my heart that “all is well”, that everything is love wanting to know itself more fully, and that we never really leave each other. Experiencing death allows us to live. It shows us the face of Being and asks us to trust in it.
I am wonderfully grateful for the blessing my father continues to share with me as I now walk my path in this world through the eyes of Attunement.
Reven – thank you for this well articulated blog article. I so appreciate your willingness to share the life experience that helped bring about your conscious awakening. Like you, Attunement has been a wonderful doorway through which my consciousness has been opened, expanded and refined. Over the years I have found that Life does bring to each one the perfect circumstance or situation through which to awaken to true identity and to expand the consciousness of Being.
