with Andrew Shier
Welcome to The IAAP Global Attunement Conference.
IAAP hosts bi-monthly conferences open to all who are interested. Each conference has a specific topic and is hosted and focused by one or more Attunement Practitioners. This recording features the presentation and wrap-up portions of the event. The topic this month is “Slow Down, Listen and Flow”, focused by Andrew Shier.
The Conference schedule is posted on the IAAP calendar of events, and each post includes the registration info. Please feel free to join in as you are able – these discussions generate a wonderful range of fine spiritual substance. As the Attunement Community, we share a common ground with others who love what we love, and as we nourish the world around us then we are nourished. The Attunement Community meets in this place of sanctuary. We hope you enjoy this conference recording.
Introduction
It is early morning. I am enjoying my tea, having just come in from feeding the horses and putting them out to pasture. Our screen porch looks out at the beginnings of the forest surrounding our home. My eye is caught by an orange oriole sitting atop the highest twig of the maple tree catching the morning’s first rays. I can see it lift its head and out comes the most beautiful song, penetrating the atmosphere and air. How can it sing like that when so much despair, uncertainty and harshness is occurring on our planet at this time? I realize that it cannot not sing because that is what it was created to do.
We too, you and I, have a song to sing; a unique gift to honor and bring into the particular environments that we inhabit. I feel the presence of this gift profoundly these days. It hovers in a slipstream or “upper room” and it speaks to me offering direction and alignment. Regardless of what is occurring, this is home base. However, it doesn’t just happen. Personally, it requires that I first slow down. Secondly, listen. In the slipstream, there are beautiful, sublime and gorgeous qualities of impulses, instincts and promptings that sound. And thirdly, there is Flow. We are carried by a force that is so strong and yet at the same time so gentle in nature.
I feel remorse these days, lots of it. Shame and guilt buried in past offenses and judgments visit often. I say thank you to them, withhold reaction and let be. Somehow the forces that live in this upper room allow them to be used wisely. And I am free to remain in Flow and let my gift just like the oriole sing into the present moment.
I look forward to sharing our time together in this upper room of Attunement .
