Radiant Living

by Jean Hammond

(Alan & Jean Hammond, who live in Colorado, spoke to a group of Attunement Practitioners in Kansas City, MO. Jean has 40 years experience withAttunement and these are some of her thoughts.)

It’s wonderful to be here in Kansas City this morning with all of you who understand what the attunement current is and are increasingly letting that become a central ingredient in your lifestyle. As Chris was just indicating, we are living in a very rapidly changing world. Al Gore’s recent film and book, “An Inconvenient Truth,” has certainly brought to the fore the increasing physical changes on our planet, particularly related to global warming. Other issues include AIDS creeping around the globe, escalating population, terrorism, and the list goes on. I would say that if there wasever a need for attunement practitioners in this world, it is now.

In your attunement classes I’m sure it has been emphasized that what goes on in the practitioner is the basis of what can be given. The quality of a practitioner’s life characterizes the quality of their personal radiation. How important it is to not get ensnared inthe vast changes going on in our world, to develop the capacity to view many things with one’s eye only, and to stay centered in the core of the attunement current.

I’ve been thinking about how human opinion is so encouraged now. We are constantly invited to phone in, to post our opinions on the Internet &msash; about you name it, and of course the media bombards us with opinion. It takes a little courage to be opinionless in today’s world, which isn’t to say that there isn’t need for perception. That’s something else. Being opinionless in the true sense is what opens space for real perception to have room to enter our feelings, our thoughts, and permeate our experience. True perception relates to being able to accurately assess situations for the moment, and therefore be in position to do what is possible — not what is impossible in that moment.

This article “The Soul of a Champion” discusses the qualities of well–known athletes, such as competitiveness, confidence, composure, and relative to Michael Jordan, the interviewer said, “Jordan had an uncanny ability to block out distractions, to zero in on what was important. It was like he was in a total vacuum, totally zoned in– that’s the hallmark, really, of a champion — focus, focus, focus.” And focus is also the hallmark of a champion attunement practitioner.

Thinking about all of us being present in today’s world as attunement practitioners, I’m aware of the increasing need to be in the right place at the right time. The physical level of this involves obvious things such as driving, operating machinery, having eyes in the back of our heads when traveling. There is also the matter of being in the right place at the right time mentally, letting the right thoughts be present. I recently saw a bumper sticker that said, “Don’t believe everything you think.” That’s good advice! As we all know, it is important to remember that in this increasingly mixed-up world, vibrational patterns of all kinds come to us. Have you ever had a thought and then said to yourself, “Good grief! Where did that come from? How could I possibly think that? Purification? Have I been doing any purification?” Thoughts can come to us at times that are not our own. They can sail in from somewhere out there in the mass consciousness, and part of our job as attunement practitioners is to learn how to press these out so that space for true perception is always kept inviolate. Relative to being in the right place at the right time emotionally, I would add the bumper sticker, “Don’t believe everything you feel.” Again, feelings can sail in from who knows where and want attention, looking to invade and operate in the space within us that really needs to be held open for other levels of attunement work. Letting clear feelings be present is essential, so that we can “bless our worlds” which many of you mentioned in your opening comments as being your purposein sharing attunement.

I kept this newspaper picture which has this caption:“Pilgrims collect water at a statue of John Paul II unveiled at his Polish hometown...touching the water that runs over its base and collecting it in bottles in the belief that it carries the power to heal.” This reminded me of years ago before I became aware of the attunement process, when within myselfI reached out hoping to find someone or something that would help me find the true meaning of life. I think there are many people in the world now who are doing this in spirit. They are reaching out wherever they are, trying to find that someone or something that can provide an answer, give help, connect them with what can assist. If we are able to be in the right placeat the right time physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, then we are available so that someone or some pattern canfind us and the responsive need represented given attention via the radiation that moves through us. Sometimes I feel aperson or a pattern coming to me just in spirit. I might beout gardening and suddenly feel the presence of something or someone somewhere reaching out with their empty water bottle, looking to gather water that will assist. Perhaps they are looking for a focus of the attunement current, in fact, as I was years ago. In such a moment it is possible to connect them with the spirit of the Creator and the spirit of assurance, and give what assistance is possible.

Just another thought before Alan speaks. I’m getting a little older. Is anyone else here getting a little older? I now often win the prize for the most silver hair wherever I am! Our society is obsessed with youth. Plastic surgery, botox treatments, inordinate exercising — anything to stave off aging in the search for the fountain of youth. Many of you are familiar with the words and spirit of Martin Exeter. He once said that as he got older he found there were things he’d always done that he was not able to do either at all or as quickly, but that with age there were other things he was able to do that he couldn’t do before. I am interested in discovering what those things might be for me as I get older! An initial thought is that maybe it has to do with the radiant use of the maturing senses. I may not move rocks in my garden the way I used to, but the rocks that I look upon can be imbued with a new quality of radiation that comes out of my eyes. I do many things as all of you do — I cook, clean, volunteer at a local university, sing in a large choral group, care for my sister who has Parkinson’s. Through such avenues of radiation (and you can think of yours), there are new ways emerging of connecting through the senses. We can look upon things radiantly, hear things radiantly that blesses in new ways, and maybe even creatively change what we see and hear. We can touch, smell and taste things radiantly that imbues them with something new. With age we may not move quite as quickly physically, but there is the potential to move like lightning in other zones!

I’m sure many of you have seen documentaries on the first blind climber to scale Mt. Everest a couple of years ago. His fellow climbers must have been quite the attunement team to help him navigate! They would tell him things during the ascent to help navigate treacherous points on the journey, but he said that in addition to the team, his success was based in the fact that he could “see.” Other senses had been heightened and/or maybe a new one created to replace normal physical sight. The resources in the human body are remarkable, and there are so many new avenues to open for all of us. It’supward and onward in our journey in life as we stay in the purification processes that keep our facilities tuned up so that we really are available to our world 24/7!
