The word terrorism has been bandied about on the front page of the newspapers in the U.S. in recent years. Today it is hard to listen to any television/ radio news report or commentary without the subject surfacing in comments or discussions. Deep, scary feelings are usually provoked when such a word is used. What is a terrorist really? The dictionary defines a terrorist as someone who adopts or supports a policy of terrorism. Terrorism is defined as act of terrorizing or a system of government that seeks to rule by intimidation. Words like terrorist and terrorism reflect an individual(s) and/or a collective group(s) choice in living; choices based in or governed by fear. When people are fearful, they can be manipulated and controlled.
On a similar and perhaps also distressing note, the United States is in the midst of an intense presidential election. By the time this newsletter is printed, both parties will have held their respective conventions and the autumn political rhetoric will be filling the airwaves in numerous ways. Sadly, most of the plethora of words will be negative in nature. Negative campaigning, and the accompanying negative commercials, seems to be numerous nowadays. The underlying reality of negative campaigning is the use of fear to control the perceptions of people.
Using the emotion of fear in living is in diametric opposition to what an Attunement Practitioner is interested in, namely, the reality of Love. For example, sharing in unified radiation each morning at 8 AM central time, letting the radiation of Love enfold the world, is a specific opportunity to address the void of the negative expressions noted above. Or when listening to the latest news that focuses on reports of terrorism and terrorist acts, one doesn't succumb to the feelings of fear being inspired, but rather one remains a luminary of light and peace through the Attunement current. So the question for us is: how shall we live our lives, in fear or in Love?
Today, I see the world perched on a steep precipice from which it can fall into chaos, destruction and violence, if the path of terror and fear govern, or from which the world may rise up into the experience of Love, union and oneness. The choice is personal! While the course of world (and local) events may seem beyond one's immediate influence, the truth is that each one of us has a powerful opportunity within the body of humanity. Let us share Attunement. Let us stay in the Attunement current allowing Love to radiate thereby blessing the world.
