A Walking Meditation
I would like to share with you a very simple 'walking meditation' that I have enjoyed working with this spring.
As I set out for my morning walk I begin to focus on my breathing. When my breath is easy and uninhibited I begin to sense that I am taking in energy thru the top of my head with each breath I take. Focusing on my seventh chakra, as I release that breath, I picture that the chakra is an ember and with my breath I am coaxing it to burst into a flame. After a breath or two to get it going, I then encourage the chakra to breathe in energy and breathe out energy A Walking Meditation just as I am breathing in and out as I walk. I continue this from the top chakra down to the root chakra and when they are all 'glowing' evenly I begin to do the same thing with my endocrine system. Beginning with the gonads and working back up through the adrenals, the islets of Langerhans, the thymus, thyroid, pituitary and ending with the pineal gland, energizing and balancing each one. A few more breaths to integrate all of the 'systems' and surround myself with light, a few closing prayers and I find myself back home.
Feeling each of these systems working together as well as individually, being energized and 'lit up,' feeling the energy flow in, around and thru me strengthens my center and is a wonderful way to set the stage for a day of blessings.
