A Day of Joining: A Response to the Annual IAAP Attunement Event
Attunement has become a natural wayof uncovering how I am at one withwhat is real. This is not something Iconstantly feel throughout the day, though. There is oftenthe need for connection with others and for validation. Inmy experience, validation often comes with synchronicity -hearing and/or seeing the needed thing at the right time. TheAttunement Event brought a great deal of this. Throughoutthe entire day, I found connection, received validation, andalso found answers for certain observations and questionsthat run very deep inside me.
A little over a month ago, my birthmother passed away. Theunexpected responsibility of handling physical business (herfuneral arrangements, personal belongings, etc.) and findingmyself on a pathless journey through grief brought me toa greater awareness of both form and Being. There was aninstinctive opening to Love and to its clarifying radiation;a natural “drawing down” of its energy into form, and a“drawing up” of my Being’s radiance into boundless oneness. At the Attunement Event, I heard Chris Jorgensen say thatBeing is undimensional. This fit exactly with my sense of thereality of Attunement.
Since connecting with my birthmother when I was 50, Ifound many similarities in the patterns of our lives, suchas, life situations, attitudes, and health. Most people wouldsay this is silly or uncanny. While there is certainly a “wowfactor,” I felt a strong sense of it being a very natural thing. However, I was having difficulty connecting some dots. Howcould her patterns show up in me from early childhood intomiddle age? Some of the patterns I welcome; some I hope tochange. Since my birthmother’s passing, these questions andissues have become urgent. I have no personal friends whoshare my circumstances, and so I often feel adrift, wonderingif my perceptions are sound and where they might lead. Atthe Attunement Event, there was a session about bloodlinesand life patterns carried through DNA. We were shown a wayto clear patterns and emotional blocks in our fields. I havelong known that the only way to be free of something is tomeet it and go through it. This is easier said than done, so Ilook for all the support I can get. At the end of the session,Gary Ragan said, “Our issues are our cures.” As we took ourbreak, I sat there taking in the connection, validation, and, most “wonder-full” of all, the experience of knowing I waswhere I was supposed to be to hear the needed thing at theright time.
